You must get out of your comfort zone to be rewarded!
I am not saying that you should jump on a plane to Paris as soon as the borders reopen; there will be a few things to consider. I will talk about that when the time comes; it’s a bit too soon.
Choosing to travel (or not) is deeply personal. It is not a question of safety only: it’s about your risk tolerance knowing that nothing is completely safe. But there are ways to mitigate risks and feel comfortable while embracing travel opportunities.
A leisure trip to Paris may be considered non-essential by many, but taking a break from it all can be really positive for your mental health, and worth the risk.
Travelling again will be a challenge
The virus is not going away in the near future. There will not be a vaccine this year so we will have to live with it for some time. It does not mean we have to stop living until the pandemic ends. The world is changing and we all must adapt, knowing that we won’t go back to the way things were anytime soon, if ever!
To be forever in lockdown without travels is not an option for me. Travelling again does not means encouraging a lack of responsibility nor is the desire to travel incompatible with being careful to contain the virus spread. My one rule is to follow the rules wherever I go. As soon as I am allowed to travel, I will!
Some things never change
It’s comforting to know that Paris is still the same enjoyable and beautiful city, just waiting for you to return. It will bring you joy and solace from the most simple things: strolling along the river banks and the cobbled streets, or sitting at a terrace and watching the world go by.
Paris will always put a smile on your face, there is so much to see and to enjoy!
Don’t give up on your dreams
You are dreaming about Paris hoping to be able to visit in the future. I strongly believe that this pandemic — like all others in the past — will end, even if nobody knows when. We must have faith.
It’s time to move on with your life and start planning, or at least work on your “bucket list.” After all, preparing the trip -and all the pleasure of anticipation- is an important part of the trip and one you can do now!
You have a friend in Paris
I live in Paris. It’s my city and I have been experiencing the ever-changing pandemic situation here every day since the beginning. Despite all the bad news everyday, I want to stay positive.
I am a traveler myself, I understand your needs and fears. I know exactly what is going on here. I will advise you on what to do, where to stay, where to go and, most important, WHEN to travel… Stay tuned, I will write again soon.
You all deserve a vacation and what better place than Paris?
